These songs were mostly written in the first few months after James' son Shea was born. It’s about becoming a Dad.

We recorded in the function room at the Rugby Irish Association over James and John’s 30th birthdays and it was lovely. We went in with no rehearsal and knocked it out in a few live takes, so it’s rough and lo-fi and we're really proud of it.

Ross McAusland painted the album cover there in the room with us.

‘The Grand Stretch’ title is from the saying - ‘there’s a grand auld stretch in evenings’ to describe the sky when the season changes to spring.
